The Metropolis Philoptochos Retreat Committee works to present a Spiritual Retreat each year during Great Lent. This year’s, 8th Annual Philoptochos Spiritual Retreat was held March 21-23, 2014 at the beautiful Diakonia Center in Salem, South Carolina.

I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:3-6

Our Retreat Presentation: Saints Mary and Martha
Living our Lives as Orthodox Christian Women

Presented by Presbytera Mary Christy of Holy Trinity Raleigh, North Carolina

Presbytera Mary ChristyThe topic of the retreat was Saints Mary and Martha, living our lives as Orthodox Christian Women, was presented by Presbytera Mary Christy of Raleigh, North Carolina. Father Paul Christy joined us our Spiritual Leader for the weekend.

Sixty-eight women attended the retreat from twenty five different communities in our Holy Metropolis. Those who attended were blessed with beautiful weather, a peaceful environment, articulate and knowledgeable women willing to share their thoughts and feelings, a wonderful program and presenter.

All of us returned home energized, encouraged and eager to share our experience with our sisters in our home chapters.
